Betting House Games – Twenty-One

[ English ]

Whether you’re new to casino gaming or a gambling old-timer, blackjack is 1 of the easiest and most exciting card games betting houses have to offer. The objective in blackjack is to defeat the croupier by acquiring a hand value as close to twenty-one as possible without going over. To play blackjack, you need only a general understanding of the game rules and a desire to experience excitement.

So how do you reach twenty one? In chemin de fer, the cards have values. Number cards two up to ten are valued at their printed number, while all face cards (King, Queen and Jack) are valued at ten points. The ace is a unique card in chemin de fer: you make a decision whether it’s worth 1 or 11 points. Since casino gamblers are dealt 2 cards to begin, if you are given an ace and a 10 valued card, you’ve achieved twenty-one-an instant success, as long as the croupier does not get twenty-one as well. This twocard winning hand is called a "blackjack"; hence the name of the game!

Casino rules for chemin de fer are basically similar at all betting houses. After you get your initial two cards, your possibilities are to take another card, hold, double your wager and take one card, split your hand into 2 hands with a second wager equal to the first, or occasionally give up.

When you play black jack at a betting house, make sure to understand which game table to select. Most casinos have color coded chemin de fer tables depending on the min wager the table accepts, typically $3, five dollars, $25 or one hundred dollars. In any casino, it’s a given the $3 and $5 tables will be filled, but they are excellent for amateurs at black jack because all of the cards are dealt face-up, instead of the 1up, 1down concept at higher tables. So the upcoming time-or the first time-you go to a casino, be sure to stop at the chemin de fer tables and target for twenty-one!
